The Clarkton Dixie Youth Baseball program has an exciting event coming in July, and we’d like to invite you to be a part of this huge endeavor. We will be hosting a "mini" World Series tournament for DYB players ages eight and under from five states — North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia. The top three teams from each state (as determined through their respective State Tournaments) will come to Clarkton to play in the "Region I AA Dixie Youth Baseball Tournament" from July 23-27, 2010.
As you can imagine, this is a huge, huge opportunity for Clarkton Dixie Youth, for the Town of Clarkton, for Bladen County, and for North Carolina. Never before has a tournament like this — for this age group — been hosted by a North Carolina community. In Clarkton DYB, we are still ecstatic from the news that we’ll get to show off our DYB complex, our town, our county, and our state!
