An ABSOLUTELY wonderful "World Series" (Region I) Coach-Pitch Tournament was held this past week in Clarkton! I enjoyed meeting new DYB friends from all over the South, and I got to catch up with some old friends. Congratulations to Coach Spencer Carter and his boys from West Robeson (NC) for winning the tournament, and another congratulations to Coach Steve Ellison and his boys from Powhatan (VA) for being selected as the tournament's Sportsmanship Winners. And...a huge "GREAT JOB" and "I love you" to all my Clarkton DYB folks. You guys and girls are the BEST group of DYB volunteers in the whole world. And, just think, a WORLD SERIES was held in Clarkton, North Carolina!! What a feather that is in our cap!
Congratulations to the Clarkton Dixie Youth Organization for getting this state tournament. I was one of those little people that played when it was one field and you had to use the bathroom in the woods but from those humble beginnings you have maintained giving the opportunity for youth in the community to play the game of baseball. It always baffles me when people say all kinds of negative things towards the organization but yet God chooses to bless this organization with so much. Just continue to let your haters be your motivators and remember that there are several reflections of what greatness comes from this organization. I will be home to witness history if at all possible in July!!! Again, Congrats!!!
I just want to say what a great job you guys are doing and congratulations on the AA Regional Tournament. I am 100% sure that people will go home when this is over and wish they lived in Clarkton, NC.
I want to be part of this history making event in July, count me in and put me on your list.
I really wanted to be put in charge of the DO NOTHING LIST but I have found out that due to my many visits there that Clarkton DYB doesn't have a DO NOTHING LIST. All you guys are hard workers and you have made me a better person by hanging out with you. lol
I plan to be there for the spring practice games and practice for the BIG EVENT.
